After a 14th Place Finish Today, Juan Manuel Correa Shifts Focus to Tomorrow

FIA Formula 2
2019 Season
Hungaroring

Sauber Junior Team driver Juan Manuel Correa was back on track today for the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend.

Starting 12th on the grid and trying a different strategy from others, Correa ended race one in P14 and will start on the outside of row seven for tomorrow’s action.

“Pretty bad race out there today. We tried the alternate strategy and I think it probably wasn’t the best choice. Some people were able to make it work, we just could not,” explained a disappointed Correa.

“With the prime tires, we lost a lot of time compared to the other drivers doing the same strategy as me and that is really where the race got away from us. After that, we put on the options for the last ten laps and we were fast, but the other drivers were too far away from us by that point."

"Pretty disappointed as I was really hoping we could get a top eight result and some more points. It just did not work for us today and we need to look and see what has been going on the past few races as we have been struggling quite a lot with the race pace and we need to understand what is happening."

With race one now race two will get underway Sunday at 11:25 (GMT +2).

On the east coast of the United States, race times will be 5:25am Sunday. Visit the www.FIAFormula2.com to follow all the weekends action and stay tuned to the Juan Manuel Correa social media pages for photos, results, news and information.
