Over two years after Dr Jon Simmons and a team of doctors helped Juan Manuel Correa recover from career-threatening injuries, the Formula 3 racer today visited the doctor.
Simmons treated Correa at King Edward VII's Hospital for over two months as part of his recovery, before making a comeback to racing in 2021.
"It was the first time that I'd seen Jon since the accident," explained Correa. "As a vascular surgeon, he had one of the hardest jobs in making sure that my leg did not need to be amputated.
"I went to visit him at the hospital today to say 'hi' and give him a book from my 2019 season to say thank you.
"He's an amazing doctor and a great person. It was good to see him again."
